Seattle business owner and co-founder of Buki Joey Rodolfo on the price of rioting. Protests and riots ravaged parts of the nation in the days, weeks and months following the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis. Floyd, 46, died on May 25 after a White Minneapolis police officer was seen on video holding his knee on Floyd’s neck for several minutes despite his shouts that he couldn’t breathe. The video went viral and people took to the streets to protest police brutality and systemic racism. Floyd’s death also highlighted a number of other Black people who were killed at the hands of White individuals or police officers. CHICAGO (WLS) Chicago s top attorney has resigned amid the fallout from a botched CPD raid last year. Lightfoot went on to thank Flessner for his service, but also said I am committed to a full review of everything that occurred surrounding this incident, will take corrective action where appropriate, and will hold people accountable. FOP President John Catanzara could be fired for social media posts, police board member Andrea Zopp says

An ongoing case involving John Catanzara came up before the Chicago Police Board Thursday night. The Civilian Office of Police Accountability had previously recommended Catanzara lose his job over social media posts he made. Police Superintendent David Brown disagreed with that COPA recommendation, saying Catanzara should be suspended. Andrea Zopp, a member of the police board, reviewed the case and said she disagreed with the superintendent. She said Catanzara could in fact be fired for those social media posts. It s now up to the full police board to decide the issue at a later date. ABC7 has reached out to Catanzara for comment, but has not yet heard back.

Chicago police raid: Anjenette Young says she feared for life, relates to Breonna Taylor

Mayor Lori Lightfoot admitted Thursday that she knew about the botched police raid that left Anjanette Young, an innocent woman, handcuffed with no clothes on. She called what happened in that home a colossal failure and has ordered changes to make sure it doesn t happen again. But late Friday, Lightfoot s office acknowledged that they failed to turn over six videos to Anjanette Young s lawyers that were requested earlier this year, calling it accidental. Young told Good Morning America in an exclusive interview they didn t kill me last night because God was covering me. I was scared into compliance, like I just did what they said to me because I was afraid that if I did anything or made any moves, that they would shoot me, she said. They had guns pointed at me. I feared for my life that night.
