Cheshire Police Rural Crime Team is investigating an attack which left a sheep and two lambs dead and mutilated on a farm in Marton, near Whitegate A SHEEP and two lambs have been killed and mutilated in a savage attack. Shocked couple Ferg Roylance, 20, and Zara Bowden, 19, were horrified to find their pet sheep dead at a farm in Marton, near Whitegate. A mother and her lamb and an orphan lamb had had their necks broken. Cheshire Police Rural Crime Team is now investigating the incident and appealing for information. It is absolutely awful, said Zara. They are not commercial sheep, they are our pets.
Writing on the police Facebook page, the force said: Yet another abhorrent sheep-worrying incident. This atrocious event occurred in fields sometime between Christmas Eve and Christmas Day lunchtime, off John Street, Utkinton. Only limited actual bloody attack wounds are present indicating the dogs have chased and worried the majority of the sheep to a stressed and panicked exhaustion.
Cheshire Police Rural Crime Team released the images after the abhorrent sheep-worrying incident in Utkinton, Cheshire Beyond the appalling animal suffering and criminal offences committed, this is a huge loss to the farmer.
