One person was killed and another seriously injured in a rollover crash on Route 24 in Stoughton Monday morning, Jan. 18, Massachusetts State Police said.
The crash occurred on Route 24 northbound prior to Route 139. The preliminary investigation indicates a Lexus SUV went off the right side of Route 24 northbound and rolled over multiple times, said state police, who arrived on scene at approximately 10:55 a.m. Monday.
One of the occupants, a 69-year-old Brockton man, was ejected from the vehicle and transported by ambulance to Boston Medical Center with life threatening injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital, police said.
Update On Two-Car Crash In Great Barrington
Ruth Houghton, 92, of Great Barrington died in a motor vehicle collision Monday afternoon.
Houghton was exiting Lovers Lane onto Stockbridge Road in a 2008 Subaru at approximately 2 p.m. and collided with a northbound 2008 Toyota Tundra driven by Samantha Kaye, 28, of Monterey.
Houghton died at the scene and Southern Berkshire Ambulance transported Kaye to Berkshire Medical Center.
Great Barrington Police, Fire, and EMS, State Police Lee Barracks, State Police Crime Scene Services Section, State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, and the Berkshire District Attorney’s Office responded to the scene.
Great Barrington Police, the Berkshire State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Berkshire District Attorney’s Office, and Massachusetts State Police are conducting the investigation.

Deadly Rt. 24 Crash in Randolph Under Investigation
A 20-year-old Boston man is dead after he crashed his sedan into a tree on Rt. 24 in Randolph Wednesday afternoon.
At approximately 3:50 p.m. troopers assigned to the Milton barracks responded to reports of a northbound vehicle that left the roadway right before Exit 21. According to a preliminary investigation, a 2008 Infiniti G35 changed from the left to the middle lane at a high rate of speed before the crash. The Infiniti lost control, rolled, and crashed into a tree. The driver, who was the sole occupant, was pronounced dead at the scene, Massachusetts State Police said in a media release.
A 22-year-old Martha’s Vineyard woman is dead after a man driving a 2002 Nissan SUV allegedly passed two vehicles at a high rate of speed and slammed into her 2010 Volkswagen Beetle.
At about 8:08 p.m. on Saturday, Massachusetts State Troopers responded to a two-vehicle crash on Beach Road in Tisbury. Emma Hall of Oak Bluffs was declared dead at the scene, and two female passengers in the VW a teenager and a young adult were transported to Martha’s Vineyard Hospital. One of the passengers was subsequently transferred to a hospital in Boston, state police said in a media release.
