The Portland Police Bureau has announced that it will reassign officers from specialty divisions to patrol the streets starting Feb. 4 to slow the surge in shootings that began last year. But Hunzeker, who heads the union that represents most bureau employees, told KOIN 6 News that won t work and will cause other crimes to go unsolved.
Hunzeker pointed to a case last week where a suspected DUII driver caused two crashes in three days in Portland.
