Fremont police kill a suspect in second fatal shooting in a week

Two Fremont police detectives fatally shot a person who police say had been under surveillance by the department’s gun violence reduction team and “presented a firearm” when detectives tried arresting him in a hotel parking lot in Fremont on Thursday night, authorities said.
Police said the person who was shot whose name and age were not released had been under surveillance by Fremont police’s gun violence reduction team and had “several” outstanding felony warrants for undisclosed alleged crimes. Police described him as being a “well-known suspect” who “was believed to be in possession of a firearm.”
