A 31-year-old man was arrested from Bihar for allegedly cheating a father-daughter duo on the pretext of validating their Know Your Customer details and siphoning off ₹4 lakh from their bank accounts, the police said on Wednesday.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Atul Thakur said that the accused has been identified as Santosh Kumar from Bihar’s Bhagalpur.
The police said that a woman lodged a complaint stating that her father, with whom she holds a joint bank account, received a message on his phone on March 3 asking for updating their KYC details.

Four persons, including three civil defence volunteers, sustained injuries when a quarrel broke out between them and commuters near the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in south Delhi on Monday.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Atul Thakur said that two cases, based on the complaint from both sides, have been registered at the Hauz Khas police station. The police said that a PCR call was received around 3 p.m. regarding a quarrel at the red light signal near IIT-Delhi gate.

Two persons who were escaping after committing a burglary were arrested when they stopped for urinating in public in south Delhi, the police said on Wednesday.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Atul Thakur said that the accused have been identified as Deepak and Ravikant. They were returning to their hideout after committing burglary in the area of Karawal Nagar and stopped for urinating at BRT Road.
To curb incidents of street crime in the area, a team was formed and deployed at BRT road and when the accused were spotted around 4.30 a.m. in a car and subsequently urinating in public, they were stopped by the staff who told them that their car will be checked.
