P.E.I. man faces possible charges following armed standoff on Sunday

  HALIFAX An armed standoff in Prince Edward Island has ended peacefully after police say the suspect surrendered. Just after midnight on Sunday, Prince District RCMP received complaints of a man uttering threats with a firearm at a home in Nail Pond. RCMP immediately responded to the scene, contained the residence, and commenced negotiations with the suspect. Following lengthy negotiations- assisted by the RCMP Crisis Negotiation Team, RCMP Emergency Response Team, Police Dog Service, Emergency Medical Response Team members, UAV/Drone operators, and General Duty members- the suspect peacefully surrendered. Police say a search warrant was executed at the home where three firearms were seized.

PG RCMP Respond to bank robbery on O'Grady Road | My Prince George Now

Surveillance from Robbery (Photo from PG RCMP) The Prince George RCMP responded to a bank robbery yesterday (January 14th) at the TD Bank on O’Grady Road at approximately 5:52 pm. Police spoke to the bank staff who stated the suspect was wearing a gas mask and came prepared with a note that he gave to a staff member. The staff member then provided the suspect with the available cash, the suspect then fled on foot. Officers and Police Dog Service’s searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect. Police are now asking any witnesses at this time to contact the PG RCMP.

The Explosives Disposal Unit was able to safely destroy of the IED on scene. The cheque books were stolen in various break-and-enters in the Leduc and Grande Prairie regions. The Volvo was stolen from the Parkland area and the semi-trailer had been reported stolen from Edmonton. A total of 42 charges have been laid against the seven people arrested. More charges could be laid against them, according to RCMP. Three of the people arrested were released on undertakings, promises to appear at court. Tyler Jeremy Smith, 34, Warren Frederick Young, 45, Roseanna Quintal, 24, and Lindsay Dawn Gallie, 31, were released following interim release hearings.
