Central Visayas cops warned against indiscriminate firing

“Let us meet the New Year peacefully,” said PRO-7 Director Brig. Gen. Ronnie Montejo. Montejo said the Philippine National Police (PNP) has done away with the taping of gun barrels to prevent indiscriminate firing. “We no longer tape the muzzles of their issued firearms because we trust them and we believe we have responsible policemen,” said Montejo. Montejo warned that a stiff penalty awaits any policeman who will be caught indiscriminately firing his or her firearm. “Violators will face dismissal from service. We will not hesitate to take necessary action,” said Montejo.
