NEW VINEYARD, Maine Maine State Police are in New Vineyard Tuesday investigating a death that Franklin County Sheriff Scott Nichols characterized as suspicious.
Sheriff s deputies went to East Barker Road, also known as Bog Road, following the call at 10:49 a.m., Nichols said in a release.
He told NEWS CENTER Maine that deputies were investigating something suspicious on Route 27 near Bog Road.
Maine Department of Public Safety Spokeswoman Shannon Moss confirmed that the State Police Major Crimes Unit was headed to the scene.

OXNARD, Calif. – Police are investigating a fatal stabbing in Oxnard that left a man dead Monday afternoon.
At around 4:00 p.m., Oxnard police officers responded to the 800 block of La Canada in Oxnard for reports of a stabbing happening in the alleyway.
Officers arrived and found a man lying on the ground with stab wounds. Despite life saving measures, the man died from his injuries.
The Oxnard Police Major Crimes Unit responded to the location and began an investigation.
Police are asking the public for their help in this investigation.
