A former Fair Play city clerk pleaded guilty to stealing funds from the city and was sentenced in Polk County Circuit Court on Tuesday, Dec. 22.Â
According to online court records, Amy Gay Buckley, born in 1955, was sentenced to supervised probation on multiple felony counts of forgery and stealing.Â
She was also ordered to pay $78,515.40 in restitution to the City of Fair Play in increments of $200 per month until the amount is paid in full, court records state. Â
Buckley was formally sentenced to a total of 20 years in prison on two counts class C felony stealing â $25,000 or more, seven years in prison on class D felony stealing â $750 or more, and a total of 15 years in prison on three counts class D felony forgery by Associate Circuit Judge John C. Porter.Â

Over a year after charges were filed, the City of Fair Play is releasing information about alleged fraud by a former city clerk.
As previously reported in the Wednesday, July 24, 2019, issue of the BH-FP, Amy Gay Buckley of Fair Play is charged in Polk County Circuit Court with five counts class D felony forgery and one count class D felony stealing â $750 or more.
According to a news release shared with the BH-FP on Monday, Dec. 14, the City of Fair Play is cooperating with the Polk County prosecuting attorney and the Polk County Sheriffâs Office âregarding criminal conduct of a former employee.âÂ
The following felony charges have been filed in Polk County Circuit Court:Â
Cheree Lynnette Lipe, born 1989, Fair Play; class D felony burglary â second degree; summons issued; due in court Dec. 23.Â
Kermetta Erron Navarro, born 1985, Bolivar; class D felony possession of controlled substance, class E felony resisting arrest; summons issued; due in court Dec. 23.Â
Larry Stewart, born 1980, Lebanon; class E felony passing bad check; summons issued; due in court Jan. 6.Â
Jacob Voorhees, born 1977, Lebanon; class E felony leaving scene of an accident â property damage exceeding $1,000; summons issued; due in court Jan. 6.Â
Eric Allen Floyd, born 1979, Springfield; class D felony possession of controlled substance; summons issued; due in court Jan. 6.Â
