Frank Galloway falls into the most vulnerable categories for COVID-19: He is 87, he is Black, and he is experiencing homelessness.
“It ain’t no joke,” Galloway said of the coronavirus, which has killed some of his friends in Greensboro, North Carolina. “I don t mind taking something that will help my life to keep going.”
He’s waiting for a vaccine while staying in an emergency shelter. Although the state began vaccinating people age 65 and up in mid-January, Galloway, like many others without housing, doesn’t have access to the technology and transportation that people in many places need to get a shot.
Windham RV dealership sold to Camping World Holdings

WINDHAM National recreational vehicle dealer Camping World Holdings announced this week that it has signed an agreement to acquire Lee’s Family Trailer Sales and Service of Windham for an undisclosed sum.
Alton “Lee” Gardner opened Lee’s Family Trailer, now on Route 302, in 1984. Current owner Dan Craffey purchased the company from Gardner’s family a few years ago. Gardner died in 2007.
Craffey owns a number of supermarkets in Maine and New Hampshire as well as other businesses. He owned Moose Landing Marina in Naples before selling it to Yarmouth Boat Yard owner Steve Arnold in 2013.
In fight against opioid use, $1.5 million awarded to Massachusetts nonprofits

A total of $1.5 million in grants will flow from Attorney General Maura Healey’s office to 16 organizations across the state that plan to use the money to fund recovery coaches, bilingual staff, outreach efforts and other measures aimed at expanding access for communities of color to opioid use treatment and recovery programs.
Healey announced the grants and discussed the initiatives during a virtual roundtable discussion Tuesday with some of the awardees, in which she said her office will aim to provide more such funding in the future. The grants were funded by a settlement Healey’s office last year reached with the Andover-based Injured Workers Pharmacy over its prescription drug dispensing practices.

In 2000, as part of a response to bullying, Modesto, California s Johansen High School instituted a course in world religions. Sherry McIntyre said she was the only instructor willing to teach it. To be quite honest, a lot of people were afraid of it, she said. Why were they afraid? asked correspondent Mo Rocca. Because it s a very delicate subject, McIntyre replied. And if you don t do it right, there s a lot of fallout. And wars are fought over this stuff, so it s a pretty scary topic to teach. But I m pretty much not afraid of almost anything, she laughed.
