Ruth Jones to retire as head of Quincy Health Department
QUINCY Ruth Jones, who led the city s health department through the coronavirus pandemic, is set to retire this month.
Jones, who served as a nurse for 19 years in the city s health department, was named as its leader in April of 2019. Less than a year later, she was tasked with seeing the city through a global pandemic that still has the nation s health systems under immense strain.
Since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, Jones has been praised by local leaders and residents alike for her dedication and quick thinking in the face of an unprecedented situation.
