BOSTON The Leadership Fellows Program at Harvard Business School (HBS) is based on University Professor Michael Porter’s vision of developing a network of HBS graduates with cross-sector experience who are committed to addressing societal issues throughout their careers. The fellowship is a two-way commitment in which graduating students are offered once-in-a-lifetime opportunities to experience high-impact management positions in nonprofit and public sector organizations for one year at a competitive salary. At the same time, the hiring organizations leverage the experience, energy, and strategic and analytical skills of MBAs in roles that produce immediate results and build long-term capacity.

Kim Janey, the soon-to-be acting mayor of Boston, on Friday
named several members of her senior leadership team, including her chief of staff: Chris Osgood, the cityâs chief of streets.
Janey, as Boston City Council president, is slated to take the reins from Mayor Martin J. Walsh after he is confirmed as the nationâs next labor secretary by the US Senate, something that is expected to happen in coming days.
Osgood is Walshâs chief of streets, transportation, and sanitation,
The Boston Herald on Friday, said she isn’t concerned about the limits placed on an acting mayor.
“I’m clear. I am clear and I am confident about what it is I need to do to lead the city, and that I will make the decisions that I need to make any appointments that I need to make,” Janey told the
Herald. “So that, again, focus has to be on the people of Boston, so that the people of our great city are well served.” Advertisement
Pending Walsh’s departure, Janey will become Boston’s first Black mayor and will be the first woman to serve in the office an experience she said is “humbling.”
