New Arma 3 DLC brings the the Vietnam War to the military tactical shooter
We’re approaching the eight years since hardcore military simulation game Arma III launched on PC, and it’s
still getting new content to fuel player’s war game fantasies. The latest DLC pack is called S.O.G. Prairie Fire, and it will be set during the Vietnam War. It will feature a brand new 300 km2 map, four factions, and all of the weapons and vehicles you could want to fill this sandbox shooter.
Prairie Fire is a ‘creator’ DLC – a label publisher Bohemia Interactive is using to promote add-on packs created by third-party studios – in this case, Savage Game Design. Previous entries under this label have included 2019’s Global Mobilization – Cold War Germany, and CSLA Iron Curtain which is due out sometime this year.

Tencent s Timi Studios, the studio behind Call of Duty Mobile and Honor of Kings, generated revenue of $10 billion - £7.23bn - in 2020.
Reuters, which broke the story, reports that if true, that makes Timi the world s largest developer , providing the studio with a hefty basis for its ambitions to move beyond mobile games and compete directly with global heavyweights developing expensive AAA titles on platforms such as desktop computers, Sony s PlayStation, Nintendo s Switch and Microsoft s Xbox .
The news comes after Tencent publicly reported it had generated 156.1 billion yuan (£17 billion) in revenue from its game business, but stopped short of revealing the revenue for each individual studio. According to two sources with direct knowledge of the matter , Reuters posits that Timi alone accounts for 40 per cent of all game revenue (thanks, TheGamer).

Arma 3’s new DLC is a trip to the museum
Military simulator gameArma 3 is doing something a bit different with its newest piece of DLC. Instead of driving around in a new tank or helicopter, this pack involves a trip to the museum. That’s right: the Art of War Charity Pack adds a virtual exhibition of Arma community members’ best artwork, and there’s even a new mission to go along with it.
The Arma 3 Art of War Charity Pack includes a new single-player scenario that developer Bohemia Interactive says showcases “international humanitarian law in action” as you help protect a “valuable work of art”. There’s some new formal attire included, such as a suit (you can’t show up at a fine arts museum dressed in fatigues, after all) and faction-specific parade dress uniforms and a parade cap. The DLC also includes a range of civilian backpacks.
