Royal Malaysian Navy receives second littoral mission ship, Sundang | Malaysia

Thursday, 14 Jan 2021 10:23 PM MYT KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 14 The Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) received its second Littoral Mission Ship (LMS), Sundang at Wucang Port, Shanghai, China today after more than two years of construction. RMN in a statement today said Sundang had successfully passed a series of acceptance tests at the port and sea before being handed over to the Malaysian government and was scheduled to sail back to the country in the third week of this month. According to the statement, Sundang was first built on October 23, 2018 at Wuchuan Shuangliu Manufacture Base, Wuhan, China before it was scheduled to be handed over to the Malaysian government on April 12 last year.

The shares were bought at RM1.29 per share, slightly lower than the RM1.30 cash offer Felda made for FGV shares.

The ships were built by Malaysia and China companies under a joint development agreement.

PAC to question Zahid and others over RM9bil combat ship project

Filepic KUALA LUMPUR: Several individuals, including former defence minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi (pic), will be questioned by the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) over the RM9bil littoral combatant ship project (LCS), says Wong Kah Woh. The PAC chairman said former navy chief admiral Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Jaafar and a representative from Boustead Naval Shipyard Sdn Bhd (BNS), main contractor of the LCS, will be questioned in the proceedings that will resume in early January. “The PAC will also conduct a visit on the LCS ship construction site in Lumut, Perak, in January next year. “The PAC is aiming to complete and table the PAC report regarding the supply of six second-generation LCS ships in the March Parliament session, ” Wong told reporters in Parliament on Thursday (Dec 17).
