THE TUC stands in solidarity with all Palestinian workers and the Palestinian General Federation of Trade Unions (PGFTU) who on Tuesday took part in a general strike on both sides of the Green Line.

The ITF condemns all acts of violence committed against children and civilians in Palestine. The violence inside Al-Aqsa mosque, around Temple Mount/Haram al-Sharif and across Israel and Palestine over the past few days are stains on the conscience of the world.
The ITF strongly condemns the militarisation of the policing of peaceful demonstrations and protests by Israeli forces. Peaceful assembly is a fundamental human right. We call on all parties to respect Article 21 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, protecting our right of peaceful assembly.

Israeli airstrikes on Gaza have killed 24 people, including nine children. These were launched in retaliation for rockets fired from Gaza, which injured more than 20 people. These attacks came after days of violence, in particular in Jerusalem, where hundreds of Palestinians were injured in demonstrations against forced evictions of Palestinian families by the Israeli authorities so that their houses could be handed over to Israelis.
Prioritizing employment, workers’ rights, social protection and social dialogue will be essential if Palestinians are to create a human-centred recovery from COVID-19 that is sustainable and inclusive, ILO Director-General Guy Ryder told Palestinian tripartite constituents.
