Palestine calls to speed up investigation into Israeli war crimes Palestine calls to speed up investigation into Israeli war crimes Ramallah, May 11 (Prensa Latina) The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday called on the International Criminal Court (ICC) to speed up investigations into Israel s war crimes in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. The text circulates amid the serious crisis due to Israel s drone attack on the Gaza Strip, where 24 people were killed, including nine, and 100 were injured, and the worsening of clashes in East Jerusalem among the local population and Israeli police and settlers. An initial report from the Palestinian Ministry of Health estimated that 20 people were killed as a result of Israel s airstrike, and that figure might increase given the critical condition of some of the injured.

Israel s forced eviction in Sheikh Jarrah could amount to war crimes: UN

Jerusalem /PNN/ The United Nations has warned that Israel’s forced evictions in occupied East Jerusalem could amount to war crimes. “We call on Israel to immediately call off all forced evictions,” UN rights office spokesman Rupert Colville told reporters in Geneva on Friday. Israel has been demolishing Palestinian homes in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood for the construction of a new settlement outpost. Based on an Israeli court ruling, some 28 Palestinian families face the threat of forceful eviction there. In a statement on Thursday, the Red Crescent said at least 22 Palestinians had been injured overnight when Israeli troops attacked their protest rally against the harsh eviction measure.
