One person, a Scurry woman, was killed and another injured in a three-vehicle collision just outside of Kaufman County.Â
At approximately 3:06 p.m. on Dec. 14, DPS troopers responded to the scene of an accident on SH 34, just south of Kaufman County.Â
The accident involved a a 1999 tan Buick Century, a 1997 white Ford Expedition, and a 2015 grey Ford F250. The driver of the Buick was a Scurry native, Fannie Moore. Moore, 75 was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.Â
According to a from the Texas news release, the driver of the Expedition slowed down unexpectedly while traveling south on SH 34. The Ford vehicleâs driver was driving behind the Expedition and was unable to stop in time. The Ford vehicle hit the rear of the Expedition, causing it collide with the Buick, which was traveling north.Â

At least five people were killed in car crashes, tens of thousands of homes and businsses lost power and a sports dome collapsed as Winter Storm Gail dumped record amounts of snow in the Northeast Wednesday into Thursday.
Hundreds of crashes were reported during the snowy weather, including a deadly Pennsylvania pileup that involved at least 66 cars.
More than 70,000 power outages were reported Thursday morning as the storm moved through, bringing more than three feet of snow to some areas.
In Binghamton, New York, a sports dome billed as the largest of its kind in the U.S. collapsed under the weight of the snow. The privately owned dome at the Binghamton Sports Complex is popular for youth sports leagues and tournaments.
