Yankees vs. Rays MLB Prediction
The Rays took Game 1 of their series versus the Yankees by outslugging the Bronx Bombers in the early innings. Will they make it two straight upsets over their American League East rivals when the teams meet again at 1:10 p.m. ET in Tampa on Saturday?

DJ LeMahieu went 2-for-4 and swatted his first home run of the season in a losing effort against the Rays on Friday afternoon in Tampa Bay. LeMahieu crushed his solo shot off of Hunter Strickland in the 8th inning, pulling the Yankees to within five runs at 10-5. That would be as close as they would get. He also doubled off of Rich Hill in the third inning and came around to score on a two-run single off the bat of Giancarlo Stanton. So far, so good for LeMahieu in the early going as he s hitting .310/.412/.588 with a homer and three RBI.
ON THE MOUND
Neither team will have their ace available to them this weekend, meaning both Tampa and New York will have to go deep into their rotations. Corey Kluber takes the mound Friday for the Yankees, while the Rays trot out Rich Hill. Saturday, it will be a matchup between New York’s Domingo German and Tampa’s Chris Archer. Finally, game three will feature a battle of Jordan Montgomery from the Yankees and Michael Wacha from the Rays.
LOOKING AHEAD
The Rays have a marathon of baseball ahead of them. Starting Friday, they will play 13 games without a break. After hosting New York, the Texas Rangers will come to town for a four-game series. Tampa will then travel to New York for a road series with the Yankees. From there, they will head west to Kansas City for a three-day bout with the Royals.

Opening Day has come and gone, and the Bronx Bombers have begun the season led by the half of their team that was supposed to be more of a question mark their pitching staff. Although an up-and-down offense has allowed them to drop two games early on, the men on the mound have permitted just 11 runs in 5 games. Not too shabby.
This podcast was recorded prior to Gerrit Cole’s dominant start against Baltimore on Tuesday night, but thanks to his Opening Day outing and other strong efforts from Jordan Montgomery and the middle relievers, there was still plenty of pitching to chat about. Clint Frazier and Gary Sánchez’s hot starts were also points of discussion, as were home run heroics from Giancarlo Stanton and Aaron Judge. The rest of the hitters could stand to wake up a bit, though.
BEEF VOTE: Lance Armstrong vs. Greg LeMond OR Red Wings vs. Avalanche
Which beef is best?
(5) Lance Armstrong vs. Greg LeMond
Sweet Sixteen Analysis: By god, they’ve done it again. Our bicycle boys beat the Bronx Bombers baseball brethren. I knew they had a shot (get it, like a syringe?) to pull this off, but I would’ve expected it to be a little closer of a fight than an eight percent margin of victory. Lance Armstrong and Greg LeMond live to ride another day.
Beef Breakdown: Lance Armstrong and Greg Lemond are the only Americans to ever win (or “win”) the Tour De France multiple times. And while these cycling heroes could have enjoyed a passing-the-torch type relationship, they did not. Because like all things Lance Armstrong, performance-enhancing drugs dominated the narrative. And before you know it, you’ve got a big slab of steroid-infused, genetically modified Beef.
