BHOPAL: Two days after Congress leader Kamal Nath had a lucky escape during a lift mishap, the Madhya Pradesh government has formed a committee to frame norms for operation and maintenance of lifts installed in both government and private buildings.
A six-member committee has been constituted to propose the standard and permanent process of operation, maintenance, accountability and inspection of all lift equipment , said Niraj Mandloi, Principal Secretary, PWD.

The ministries of Health, Youth Development and National Service, and Sport and Community Development are working together to create 26 indoor spaces for youths to get involved in physical activities.
The Healthy Youth TT Programme was launched on Saturday at the Bagatelle Community Centre, Diego Martin, where a small, fully equipped gym was unveiled.
The aim of the programme was to provide physical activity equipment to selected community centres, youth, and sporting facilities to give young people access to basic equipment in their communities. It also aimed to develop and implement a community-based, youth-targeted health promotion wellness programme.
THA: Still work to be done on labs in Tobago schools

Secretary of Education, Innovation and Energy Marslyn Melville-Jack has said the labs at the Signal Hill Secondary School will be completed within a month.
On Monday, when face-to-face learning resumed for secondary school students of forms four to six, Melville-Jack led a tour of schools on the island.
She admitted that there is work to be done.
“There are so many things that we can do better. Things are not perfect, and we don’t expect them to be perfect all at once – we know that these are unprecedented times,” she said.

Application for environmental clearances with Centre, say officials
Aggrieved farmers from various villages in Khammam and Kalluru divisions knocked the doors of the Telangana High Court seeking protection against what they called “imminent threat of dispossession” from their agricultural lands owing to the alleged attempts by the authorities concerned to acquire their lands for the proposed Khammam-Devarapalli Greenfield National Highway.
