STATESVILLE, N.C. A former Wells Fargo employee was convicted by a federal jury in Statesville, N.C. on Friday for producing child pornography on his company-owned cell phone.
Federal authorities say 50-year-old Michael Hoover of Wilkesboro, N.C. is guilty on two counts of producing child porn and one count of possession of child porn.
Hoover produced child porn between June 2018 and August 2019, on two different occasions, by getting two minor victims to engage in sexually explicit conduct, according to filed court documents.
According to the witness testimony, the child pornography was found on Hoover’s work cell phone and depicted two minor boys, as young as 12-years-old, engaging in sexually explicit conduct.

Jason Christopher Davis, 48, was sentenced April 7 in federal court.
Davis pleaded guilty Oct. 3, 2018, to production of a visual depiction of a 5-year-old engaged in sexually explicit conduct in 2015.
Upon his release from prison, Davis will be subject to 20 years of supervised release and will be required to register as a sex offender.

A federal judge in Jacksonville on Monday afternoon sentenced Sean Patrick Farrelly, the former Palm Coast resident and previously convicted felon, to 30 years in prison for having enticed with money, alcohol, drugs and gifts a girl to have sex with him between March 2018 and February 2019 in an L-Section house in Palm Coast and in a trailer. The girl was 16 and 17 at the time.
The federal charge is sex trafficking, but it is, in fact, a misnomer. The case has nothing to do with sex trafficking as it is generally understood–as a commercial enterprise that involved the actual trafficking and pimping of a child through such abusive and dangerous pipelines as prostitution rings, in which children are usually held captive or find themselves unable to free themselves of the abuse. There are no such cases in Flagler County.

BIRMINGHAM – A federal judge on Wednesday sentenced a man on child pornography charges, announced U.S. Attorney Prim F. Escalona.
U.S. District Court Judge Abdul K. Kallon sentenced Guillermo Martin Lopez, 31, to 65 years in prison followed by 10 years of supervised release. Lopez pleaded guilty in December 2020 to two counts of production of child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography. This conviction will require him to register as a sex offender in accordance with the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act (SORNA).
