Chairman, Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, Cross River State Chapter, Mr Robert Obi, has kicked against the proliferation of illegal fuel stations in the state.
He spoke when IPMAN paid a courtesy visit to the new Operations Controller, Department of Petroleum Resources, Cross River office, Mr George Ene-Ita.
Obi said that the process of being a petroleum product marketer and getting DPR licence was difficult and expensive, saying it was wrong for one to get all the certification only to see someone open an unlicensed and uncertified station beside their own.

Chairman, Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria IPMAN, Cross River Chapter, Mr Roberts Obi on Thursday decried the proliferation of illegal fuel stations in the state.
Obi made the assertion when the group paid a courtesy visit to Mr George Ene-Ita, the new Operations Controller, Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR), Cross River Office yesterday.
The chairman said that the process of being a petroleum product marketer and getting DPR licence was huge and expensive adding that it was an anomaly for you to get all the certification only to see someone open an unlicensed and uncertified station beside yours and is selling.
The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) on Thursday said “anything could happen” in reference to the zoning of its 2023 presidential ticket.
The main opposition, however, said a final decision will be announced after the resolution of all pending issues.
The Board of Trustees Secretary, Adolphus Wabara, briefed reporters on the resolutions of an emergency meeting held on Wednesday.
The board members discussed the situation in the party nationwide as well as the political and economic tension in the country.
Wabara disclosed that the meeting deliberated the stability of all organs and placed them on alert as the party prepares to take over power in 2023.

They lamented what they described as “inconsistencies” on the part of the Federal Government, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, and its subsidiary, the Pipeline and Products Marketing Company, PPMC, on deregulation policy.

Members of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, IPMAN, have advised Nigerians to expect a higher petrol pump price in the coming days, saying the price may rise to N195 per litre.
They lamented what they described as “inconsistencies” on the part of the Federal Government, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation and its subsidiary, the Pipeline and Products Marketing Company (PPMC) on deregulation policy.
NNPC had last week ruled out immediate price rise until a scheduled meeting between the Federal Government and labour unions at the end of the month.
