Proserpine Police officer-in-charge Mark Flynn said officers searched a property on Strathdickie Rd, Strathdickie, on Monday, February 15. Kylee Peta Jenkin faced Proserpine Magistrates Court this week and pleaded guilty to possessing dangerous drugs and a bong. Police prosecutor Sergeant Emma Myors told the court police went to a property for a different matter in January and found 0.6g of marijuana and the bong. Jenkin, 48, was fined $200 and convictions were recorded. Raymond Forrest A recovering alcoholic says he took up smoking marijuana after he stopped drinking booze. Raymond Forrest faced Proserpine Magistrates Court this week after police found 12.6g of marijuana and a water pipe in his possession.

Second alleged knife incident in Proserpine in a week

The first driver was pulled over on Kelsey Creek Rd about 3.30pm on Friday. The 73-year-old Kelsey Creek man allegedly recorded a blood alcohol concentration of 0.095 per cent and is due to face court on March 1. Later that night, police intercepted a 47-year-old Crystal Brook man on Main St, Proserpine, and he allegedly returned a 0.13 BAC. But the highest alleged blood alcohol reading was recorded about 3am Monday, after a Bowen man was pulled over on Shute Harbour Rd at Mount Julian. The 31-year-old man allegedly recorded a 0.216 BAC and is due to face court on March 8. More Stories

Whitsunday man s odd wake-up call leads to assault charge

  The court heard he found the woman sleeping on a couch and tapped her on the head with a water bottle to wake her up. Police prosecutor Sergeant Emma Myors told the court the woman woke up shocked and experiencing pain . He may have intended to find out about his lost property, but Bartlett instead ended up with an assault charge. Ms Reynolds told the court the circumstances of the case were unusual. He accepts he touched her without permission with the bottle, she said. The court heard the Hamilton Plains man was serving out a probation order placed on him in Tasmania, but no action was being taken against the order.
