The Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, Gordana Tadić, met and talked with the Ambassador of Ukraine to Bosnia and Herzegovina, HE Vasily Kirilich, on topics of interest to the judicial institutions of Ukraine, as well as the activities carried out by the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH in a case known to the public as “Ikona” /Icon/.
The Chief Prosecutor informed the Ambassador that several activities falling within the competence of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH had already been undertaken, and that it was necessary for the institutions from which international legal assistance had been requested to respond to the request as soon as possible.

SARAJEVO, Jan. 27 (Xinhua) A Joint Investigation Team (JIT) of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) and Sweden is conducting a search-and-arrest operation against an organized group suspected of international human trafficking, the Prosecutor s Office of BiH said on Wednesday.
The JIT, supported by the State Investigation and Protection Agency of BIH (SIPA) and the police force of Republika Srpska (RS), one of two entities of BiH, is searching premises, vehicles and electronic devices of several suspects at three locations in the northeast of BiH.
This organized group is suspected of multiple crimes, including international trafficking in persons from vulnerable populations, labor exploitation, fraud, misuse of social security benefits and laundering at least 3.9 million euros (4.7 million U.S. dollars) generated by criminal activities.

A 300-year-old Ukrainian icon, originally from the occupied city of Luhansk, which has earlier been handed as a gift to Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in Bosnia and Herzegovina, is estimated at EUR 12.5 million.
The icon was kept in the Banke Srpske deposit until its
bankruptcy, and later was deposited with the Lithuanian-owned UKIO bank. It is not known when and how the icon got into the Bosnian bank, as reported by Balkan Observer for Ukraine on Facebook with reference to the Bosnian BN TV channel, Unian writes.
