(Latin America News Agency via REUTERS) On December 11, 2020, the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court announced the conclusion of a preliminary examination into events in Ukraine since 2014. The Office of the ICC Prosecutor concluded that “there is reasonable basis to believe a broad range of conduct constituting war crimes and crimes against humanity within the jurisdiction of the Court have been committed in the context of the situation in Ukraine.” The ICC identified three broad categories of crimes, namely crimes committed in the context of the conduct of hostilities; crimes committed during detentions; and crimes committed in Crimea. As the investigation unfolds, other crimes may be added to this list.

Malki: Our duty is to protect ability of ICC to fulfill its responsibilities with integrity Malki during his virtual participation in the nineteenth session of the Assembly of States Parties (ASP) to the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court (ICC) RAMALLAH, Monday, December 14, 2020 (WAFA) - Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Minister Riyad Malki said that we must protect the ability of the International Criminal Court (ICC) to fulfill its responsibilities with integrity and strength. Malki s remarks came during his virtual participation in the nineteenth session of the Assembly of States Parties (ASP) to the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court (ICC) opened today at the World Forum Convention Center in The Hague, The Netherlands.  The session, which will be held remotely due to the current COVID-19 restrictions, is scheduled from 14 to 16 December in The Hague and from 17 to 23 December 2020 in New York.
