EDEN, Utah Mary Spencer was 19 years old when she dropped out of college. Now, over 61 years later, the 80-year-old has earned her bachelor’s degree.
In a virtual Brigham Young University-Idaho commencement held earlier this month, Spencer was awarded a Bachelor of Science in marriage and family studies.
âJackson Pollock started the abstract art way back then. Pollock inspired (splatter) art,â said Steffany.
In the 1940s, Pollock created what was referred to as âdrip styleâ art where he splattered paint, reports the webpage guggenheim.org.
âPollockâs drips, also called âaction paintingsâ revolutionized the potential for contemporary art and furthered the development of Abstract Expressionism,â it reported.
The Faldmos plan is to open their Splatter Lab on Jan. 15. Itâs located in the T-Rex Plaza next to Little Caesars. Using four separate lab rooms, up to a dozen visitors may splatter paint all over the place for 30 minutes. Theyâll be provided canvases that they can also take home to display their splatter artwork.

Tuscaloosa: Concerns over furthering the spread of COVID-19 have prompted officials with the Tuscaloosa Public Library system to again close its branches. The closures will remain through at least Jan. 5, said library spokesman Vince Bellofatto.
