Fidelity robbery: Six suspects nabbed, due in court
The suspects are said to have made off with R24 million in cash, during an armed robbery at Fidelity offices in Pretoria
Six suspects are expected to make an appearance in the Pretoria Magistrates Court on Monday, 17 May 2021, facing several charges of armed robbery, possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition, in connection to an incident at Fidelity offices in Pretoria, Hercules.
In November 2020, a group of heavily armed indivuals are said to have invaded the security company’s offices and fled the scene with millions in cash.
“It is alleged that in November 2020, a group of unknown heavily armed men wearing Fidelity uniforms and balaclavas tied up security guards to gain entry into the premises,” said Hawks spokesperson Ndivhuwo Mulamu.

JOHANNESBURG - Caster Semenya has been instructed by the Pretoria Magistrates Court to complete 50 hours of community service for speeding.
The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) on Wednesday said the Olympic champion pleaded guilty to a speeding charge last week and was granted R500 bail.

Speed might be two-time Olympic 800m champion Caster Semenya’s ally on the track but, it appears, not so on the road.
Semenya appeared in the Pretoria Magistrates Court on Thursday last week, to answer to charges related to speeding.

The events which ended in the murder of Thembinkosi Thabethe allegedly by a man who lived in the same estate were sparked by a WhatsApp message addressed to the accused s wife.
Leon Coetzee, 55, who is accused of murdering Thabethe, appeared in the Pretoria Magistrates Court on Wednesday, where he applied for bail.
According to the State, Coetzee stabbed Thabethe three times outside his home in Green Acres Estate, Montana, Pretoria, on 26 April.
This was after Thabethe allegedly went to Coetzee s home at around 21:00.
Thabethe died in hospital on 1 May.

Shepherd Bushiri head of security in court on corruption charge
An SAPS Organised Crime officer and her husband, head of security for Shepherd Bushiri, face corruption charges linked to an alleged rape.
Controversial Kenyan pastor Shepherd Bushiri’s head of security and his wife, a senior member of the SAPS, appeared in the Pretoria Magistrates Court facing charges of corruption this week.
Rosey Resondt, a 45-year-old brigadier who works as a member of the SAPS National Organised Crime Unit appeared in court with her husband, Clifford Cornelius Resondt, who works as the head of security for Shepherd Bushiri.
National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) national spokesperson Sipho Ngwema said that the couple had appeared in court on charges of corruption after Clifford had been arrested on 20 January 2018 for allegedly raping a child.
