People aged over 60 in Lincolnshire can now book their covid-19 vaccinations

Lincolnshire residents aged 60 and over can now arrange their Covid-19 vaccination appointments at one of the county s large vaccination centres .
The centres are at Bostonâs Princess Royal Sports Arena and the Lincolnshire Showground.
Those who do not wish to travel to Boston or Lincoln can wait for their GP surgery to invite them for an appointment. Patients registered with Lakeside surgeries in Stamford and Bourne will be vaccinated in Stamford, and those attending the Galletly Practice in Bourne and The Deepings Surgery will be called to the vaccination hub at the exhibition centre in Spalding.

Vaccines from Johnson & Johnson and Novavax report positive trial results
A coronavirus vaccine developed by the US firm Novavax has been shown to be 89 per cent effective in preventing covid-19 in clinical trials. The trials included participants in the UK and South Africa, and found the vaccine to be 86 per cent effective against the UK variant of the virus, but only 60 per cent effective against the variant in South Africa. Novavax said it will immediately begin development on a vaccine specifically targeted to the South African variant.

Janssen, a subsidiary of US firm Johnson & Johnson, announced that its covid-19 vaccine showed 66 per cent efficacy in an international trial. These results are based on a single dose of the vaccine, which makes it easier to administer than the two-shot vaccines that have already been approved. The company has said it will sell its vaccine on a not-for-profit basis.

The first patients received their jabs as the county’s second largest coronavirus vaccination centre opened at Lincolnshire Showground on Tuesday morning.
COVID-19 vaccinations will be provided from the new EXO Centre at Lincolnshire Showground, starting with people aged over 70.
It is now open daily between 8am and 8pm and can deliver around 1,000 doses a day by invitation only.

Urgent appeal for missing Lincoln man
Police think he’s still in Lincoln
Police are appealing for help to find a missing 44-year-old man from Lincoln.
Andrew Arden, 44, has been missing since Wednesday and is believed to still be in the Lincoln area.
Officers have described their appeal as urgent and are pleading for the public’s help to find Andrew.
