Actor, Santa Clarita Princess Cruises Spokesperson Gavin MacLeod Dies At 90
Gavin MacLeod, well-known for his role as Mauray Slaughter, the sarcastically humorous TV newswriter on “The Mary Tyler Moore Show,” Captain Stubing on “The Love Boat,” and spokesperson for Princess Cruise Lines in Santa Clarita, has died at 90.
MacLeod delivered sardonic comedic performances on “The Mary Tyler Moore Show” from 1970 until 1977, before shifting gears and becoming Captain Stone on “The Love Boat” from 1977 to 1986.
MacLeod died early Saturday morning. MacLeod’s health had reportedly been poor leading up to the time of his death but no cause of death has been confirmed, according to MacLeod’s family.
