Simpson Bay, St. Maarten: - Immediate execution of strategic methods is ongoing at the Princess Juliana International Airport (SXM) to further facilitate air carriers, as the consistent increase in air traffic surges in St. Maarten. This is a key milestone for the aviation organization since the untimely Coronavirus crisis in 2020.
Today, the Managing Board of the Princess Juliana International Airport Operating Company (PJIAE N.V.) is headstrong that the Airport operations are a high priority as the world airports are systematically taking measures to start relaunching the aviation industry and encourage competition.

PHILIPSBURG: - The Council of Ministers officially suspended the Managing Director of the Princess Juliana International Holding Company Dexter Doncher. Doncher was informed of the suspension by letter late Wednesday night after the Council of Ministers held an emergency meeting and voted. Dexter Doncher was given a warning letter two days prior to the three months suspension.
The Council of Ministers wanted to fire Doncher who followed the instructions of the government to officially dismiss the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Princess Juliana International Airport, Brian Mingo on April 7th. Mingo then filed an injunction against his termination and the judge ruled in favor of Mingo due to a technical error in the dismissal procedure.

As of May 12th, there were four (4) persons who tested positive for COVID-19; however five (5) persons have recovered; bringing the total active cases to thirty two (32). The total number of confirmed cases is now two thousand two hundred seventy two (2272).
The Collective Prevention Services (CPS) are monitoring twenty nine (29) people in home isolation. Three (3) patients remain hospitalized at the St. Maarten Medical Center. The total number of deaths due to COVID-19 remains at twenty seven (27).
The number of people recovered since the first case surfaced on St. Maarten has increased to two thousand two hundred thirteen (2213). Thirty nine (39) people are in quarantine based on contact tracing investigations carried out by CPS.
Knops: St. Maarten will not receive fifth tranche until situation at airport is restored
The money will not be released until the St. Maarten government has taken forceful action to restore the situation at the airport.
THE HAGUE - Dutch caretaker State Secretary of Home Affairs and Kingdom Relations Raymond Knops on Wednesday informed St. Maarten Prime Minister Silveria Jacobs that he has deferred the signing of the NAf. 39 million fifth tranche liquidity support due to the “very worrisome situation” with regard to corporate governance of the Princess Juliana International Airport (PJIA).
The money will not be released until the St. Maarten government has taken forceful action to restore the situation at the airport.
