This week we’ve seen some massive cruise news with updates from all three major cruise lines and even more cruise cancellations.
Cruise News Update
We’ve had one of those defining weeks in the cruise industry with many cruise lines now extending suspensions for even longer. This week it has been all about further cancellations and we’ve got new suspension updates from Carnival Cruise Line, Disney Cruise Line, Princess Cruises, and Holland America Line.
Also from the week, Royal Caribbean announced new short getaways, the Cayman Islands wants to limit cruise tourism along with situation updates from all three major cruise lines. So we better get started as there are lots to get through.
U.S. ports has been extended through May 31, 2021.
Holland America Line
As Holland America Line is extending its pause of cruise operations to now include all sailings that depart from or conclude in a Canadian port in 2021. This will include several Alaska, three Canada/
New England and two
Pacific Coastal cruises in summer and fall of this year. It also includes all Land+Sea Journeys.
At this time, Alaska cruises departing from mid-May and sailing roundtrip from
Seattle are not being canceled. Discussions are underway with Canadian and United States government authorities to try to find a path forward to preserve these sailings, HAL said; as more information is known, an announcement will be made. Guests on affected Alaska cruises and
Princess Cruises Cancels Some Alaska Sailings After Canada Extends Port Closure

Following the decision of Canada to extend the closure of Canadian ports and waters to passenger vessels, Princess Cruises has announced it will cancel many of its Alaska, Canada & New England, and Pacific Coastal Sailings for 2021.
Transport Canada’s order, which was revealed earlier this month, means that cruise sailings carrying 100 people or more out of Canadian ports and those traveling through Canadian waters, including Alaska sailings out of Seattle or Canada and New England sailings, will not be able to operate in Canadian until March 2022 at the earliest.
Following the Canadian Transport Ministry’s Interim Order that closed Canadian ports and waters to passenger vessels, Holland America Line cancel select voyages in 2021.
