An individual connected to St. John Community School has tested positive for COVID-19.
The Prince Albert Catholic School Division announced the case on Wednesday. The cohort impacted by the case has already been notified and provided with instruction. Further updates will be available from the Edsby platform.
In-person learning will continue with safety protocols in place.
The school division declined to share any details about the person who tested positive citing privacy concerns.

“We’re a little bit on a hold pattern,” Trumier said. “We know it’s coming.”
As a preliminary step, the division has discussed using large areas within its schools like gyms to host vaccine clinics for students once the SHA is ready to roll-out the program.
“The weather is great and we should be taking kids outside as much as possible, so this I think will be a double win if that occurs,” Trumier said, indicating she didn’t think students would mind more outdoor gym classes.
Second COVID-19 case connected to École St Anne School

The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) has identified a positive COVID-19 case in an individual at École St Anne School in Prince Albert.
This was the second case connected with one also announced on May 6.
In a news release by the Prince Albert Catholic School Division on Sunday evening the division explained that communication has been shared with the specific classrooms/cohorts, as well as the school community.
The case was not school acquired.
“The Saskatchewan Health Authority is proceeding with their assessment of the situation and all individuals deemed to be close contacts will be provided instructions.”

âWe want to reassure families that school will resume for in-person learning for all other students on Monday, May 10, 2021. To protect privacy, we are not able to share or discuss details,â the PACSD said.
