WHL Roundup: Tarzwell s pair powers Rebels over Hurricanes

RED DEER, Alta. - Josh Tarzwell scored twice as the Red Deer Rebels defeated the Lethbridge Hurricanes 5-1 Sunday night in Red Deer.
Both teams combined for four goals as the Rebels took a 3-1 lead into the third period. The Rebels would finish off the Hurricanes with two more goals in the third and final frame of play.
Ben King, Arshdeep Bains, and Jace Isley also scored for the Rebels (1-3-2-0).
Logan Barlage scored the only goal for the Hurricanes (2-2-0-0). -

REGINA Blake Stevenson scored two goals and added two assists in a 6-3 Saskatoon Blades win over the Regina Pats Sunday. Carson Denomie scored two goals and added an assist in the loss.

The Regina Pats will be under new majority ownership effective immediately.
The Brandt Group of Companies has purchased the Pats, taking sole ownership of the organization. The deal has been approved by the WHL’s board of governors.
Brandt has been a co-owner of the WHL team as a partner in the Queen City Sports and Entertainment Group since that entity bought the team in April of 2014.
“This is a very exciting day for the entire Regina Pats organization; Brandt has played a key role in supporting and building up our organization over the years,” Pats general manager John Paddock said in a media release.
While the Regina Pats fell 6-3 to the Prince Albert Raiders to open the WHL season Friday, the only number on fans' minds was 98. It was an exceptiona.
