NASA rover worked on by P.E.I. scientist lands safely on Mars
NASA s Perseverance rover safely landed on Mars just before 5 p.m. AT Thursday. A scientist originally from Cornwall, P.E.I. spent a long time waiting for this day.

The Mars Rover Landing will be happening tomorrow, and we can watch it happen live!
Remember last year when NASA’s Perseverance Mars Rover left Earth? Well it’s finally touching down on Mars.
Nasa will be broadcasting live tomorrow starting at 3:15pm our time.
Perseverance is expected to land on Mars at about 4:55 p.m.
What’s really cool is the Rover is suppose to touch down in the Jezero Crater. Part of that crater was named after “Prince Edward Island National Park”. It was named by scientist, Peter Willis who is from the island and part of the Mars Rover Mission.
Ice coverage in Gulf of St. Lawrence at historic low for midwinter
Just over one per cent of the Gulf of St. Lawrence is covered in ice this week much less than in a normal year, when almost a third would be iced in, according to a news release from Environment Canada.
