P E I reports three new COVID-19 cases Monday; travel from outside Atlantic Canada suspended for four weeks

  HALIFAX Prince Edward Island is reporting three new cases of COVID-19 on Monday, as officials announced several new measures to tighten the province s borders. During a news update on Monday, P.E.I. s chief public health officer, Dr. Heather Morrison, said all three new cases are related to travel outside of Atlantic Canada and involve: An individual in their 30s who had travelled from outside of Atlantic Canada and was a close contact of a previously reported case. Two people in their 20s. All three new cases are now self-isolating. P.E.I. also reported three new cases on Sunday, involving a child under 10, an individual in their 30s, and an individual in their 50s.

The week-long Norwegian Cruise Line voyage isn’t slated to depart New Orleans until Jan. 23, 2022, but Outwater, 81, hopes the Canadian government will ease international travel restrictions long before then. “I’ve got until Sept. 25 to cancel and get my money back or rebook,” the Hamilton resident says. His trip hinges on the lifting of rules that require all returning travellers to quarantine for a minimum of 14 days, starting with a mandatory three-night prepaid booking at a government-authorized hotel. “I love cruises, but not that much,” he adds.

Josie Baker co-created the Facebook group P.E.I. Foraging Friends, which in the past year has amassed almost 1,000 members who share photos of their harvests, recipes and more. I have been interested in plants I would say for the better part of my life, Baker said. As a child we had a mint patch, and I would love to go out to the mint patch and get my parents to make mint tea for me.
