A Virginia sheriff’s deputy was fired after officials said he shared threatening posts on social media targeting Chief Justice John Roberts and other public officials.
The Prince William County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement on Saturday on Facebook that officials were notified on Christmas Day about “disturbing comments being made on several social media outlets by a deputy sheriff.”
Prince William Sheriff Glendell Hill “was notified and ordered an Internal Affairs investigation. The investigation has concluded and the deputy has been terminated from employment with our office,” the statement continued.

A deputy sheriff in Prince William County, Virginia, was fired after it was discovered he was the owner of an account on the right-wing social media website Parler that made threatening posts against governors, politicians, judges, and CEOs.

Posts also promised death on anyone who vaccinated his children against COVID-19
A Prince William County Sheriffâs Office deputy has been fired for making âdisturbing commentsâ on social media accounts, Sheriff Glendell Hill said Saturday.
The deputy was fired after Hill launched an internal investigation into the comments, which were reported to his office on Christmas Day by a member of the public, Hill said in an email.
âEarly yesterday, our agency was notified about disturbing comments being made on several social media outlets by a deputy sheriff,â Hill wrote. âI was notified and ordered an internal affairs investigation. The investigation has concluded and the deputy has been terminated from employment with our office.â

Heather Mitchell will make another run for Special Election for Virginia’s 2nd House District, which could happen as soon as early January.

This will be the second time Mitchell, a Republican, has campaigned for the seat. She lost in November 2019 to incumbent Jennifer Carroll Foy (D), Prince William County, who has held the seat since 2017.
Carroll Foy announced she would step down from the seat to devote her full attention to her campaign for state governor, which she launched a statewide bus tour in Spring 2019 a precursor to her gubernatorial campaign at the same time she sought reelection to her House of Delegates seat.
