After experiencing a vaccine clinic flop reflecting the regional downturn in vaccine demand, a local health care team hopes it has found its groove for administering COVID-19 vaccines to whoever wants one.The key? Convenience.In early May, The HealthCare Connection recently held a vaccine clinic at Finneytown High School. The teen-aimed clinic was so popular, nurses had to turn people away because it ran out of the allotted 125 doses. This was a drastic change of results after an in-house clinic in April produced less than 25 teens who wanted to receive their first Pfizer shot. This Saturday, THC is hosting another school-based clinic with Princeton City Schools. THC staff says it plans on having 400 doses of vaccine with a majority being Pfizer. Cranbury school board adopts $20.1 million budget for 2021-22 school year The Cranbury Township Board of Education has adopted a $20.1 million budget to fund school district operations during the 2021-22 academic year. Board President Karen Callahan, Vice President Pramod Chivate and board members Peter Katz, Lisa Rue, Laura Hoffman and Rob Christopher voted “yes” to adopt the budget on April 28. Board members Dominique Jones and Lindsay McDowell were absent from the meeting. The 2021-22 budget provides for two additional teachers and two additional teaching assistants, additional funding for expansion of in-person learning, education programs, staffing and services, tuition payments to Princeton Public Schools and funds transportation services, according to the school district’s presentation.

By Garth Shanklin For the first time in roughly two years, coaches from across the state gathered for softball sectional tournament draws on Sunday, May 2. In the Southwest District, the Cincinnati Division I meeting was a hybrid meeting. The in-person aspect was held at Fairfield High School. Milford drew the No 2. seed in the sectional behind only Lakota West. The Lady Eagles (19-3) took a first-round bye and will host either No. 21 Wilmington (5-11) or No. 26 Sycamore (2-12) on Wednesday, May 12. A win would send Milford to the district semifinal, scheduled to be played at Fairfield High School on Monday, May 17.

New principal appointed at Princeton High School

New principal appointed at Princeton High School New principal appointed at Princeton High School Frank Chmiel, the principal of Franklin High School in the Franklin Township Public School District, is the next principal of Princeton High School. Chmiel was appointed by the Princeton Public Schools Board of Education at its April 27 meeting and will take over the reins at Princeton High School on July 1. He will be paid $169,000. Chmiel replaces former Princeton High School Principal Jessica Baxter, who resigned to become the principal at Randolph High School in the Randolph Township Schools. Assistant Principal Jared Warren filled in as acting principal while the search was under way for a new principal.
