Amazon Female Warriors
Wonder Woman everybody’s favorite Amazon.
By Amazon I am talking about the warriors of legend not the rain forest or the business that is sucking the life out of local retail.
Yes the Amazons are the people of Wonder Woman….but were they real or just myth?
Were the Amazons of ancient Greek mythology fierce female warriors said to have roamed a vast area around the Black Sea known as Scythia real? Or were they as fictitious as other Greek myths, such as Aphrodite emerging from genitals thrown into the sea or Jason stealing a golden fleece?

The history of digital cash consists of scientific discoveries from the 1970s, hardware from the 1980s, and networks from the 1990s, shaped by theories from the previous three centuries and beliefs about the next ten thousand years. It speaks ancient ideas with a modern twang, as we might when we say “quid pro quo” or “shibboleth”: the sovereign right to issue money, the debasement of coinage, the symbolic stamp that transfers the rights to value from me to thee. Digital cash has the hovering, unsettled realness (not reality) of all money, a matter of life and death that is also symbolic tokens, rules of a game, scraps of cotton blend and polymer, entries in a database, promises made and broken, gestures of affection and trust. The long history we are discussing here is at its heart the history of a debate about

Robots hold polar extremes in economic narrative and popular imagination. One narrative depicts a looming dystopian future with robots and other forms of automation increasingly replacing human workers, depressing wages (Brynjolfsson and McAfee 2014), feeding inequality, and contributing to further ‘deaths of despair’ (Case and Deaton 2020, Mulligan 2021). In counter-imaginations, robots embody innovative technology spurring productivity and freeing workers from repetitive, strenuous, monotonous work while helping to relieve labour shortages arising from ageing populations. Such demographic challenges are salient particularly in higher-income countries farther along in the demographic transition, such as the OECD nations, where populations in 18 out of the 36 countries are projected to decline by 2055. These nations face rising old-age dependency ratios, declining employment-to-population ratios, and challenges in providing services to the growing number of fra
(MENAFN - The Conversation) #EverydayLookism is a campaign which shares lookist stories. Lookism is appearance discrimination and the most common form of bullying as reported in the Annual Bullying Survey by DITCH THE LABEL, but unlike sexist or racist bullying, it is too often accepted as normal.
We don t put up with sexist comments, we shouldn t put up with lookist comments. The Everyday Sexism project shared sexist stories, we share lookist stories to show its not ok. We should be ashamed of bodyshaming, not of our bodies.
The #EverydayLookism Facebook Live series is three live panel discussions on: Body image as a public health issue; Appearance bullying and lookism; and Mental health and body image. The debates are hosted by Professor Widdows and include cross-party MPs and leading NGOs. The debates will be live-streamed on the University Facebook channel throughout February-March 2021, and will also feature a live Q & A with audience members.
