Portsmouth Regional Hospital Offering COVID Antibody Infusion

I really hope between this and the vaccination, that we are starting to steady our feet and fight back strongly against COVID. Because this sounds like such a positive thing we ve already lost way too many people to this disease, so this is at least a glimmer of light in the dark pandemic tunnel we ve been stuck in for a while how. According to WMUR, Portsmouth Regional Hospital is now offering a therapy to battle COVID that is already active in patience through antibody infusion. What the monoclonal antibodies do once introduced into the positive patient s body (if I understand this right) is basically surround the COVID and prevent it from getting into the cells, which infects the person on a whole different level obviously.

HCA Seacoast hospitals offer monoclonal antibody treatments

Karen Dandurant, news@seacoastonline.com PORTSMOUTH – Portsmouth Regional Hospital will offer Monoclonal Antibody Infusion Therapy (MAT) for eligible COVID-19 positive patients. The therapy is available to people who have received a positive COVID test result, and who may have other co-morbidities that would make them a higher risk for a more severe case, likely requiring hospital treatment. This advanced care through Portsmouth Regional Hospital’s monoclonal antibody treatment clinic is available to patients of HCA’s two other New Hampshire facilities, Frisbie Memorial Hospital and Parkland Medical Center, as well as to qualified COVID-19 patients regardless of a providers’ affiliation.
