The BMC (Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation) on Tuesday registered an FIR with the police against a family in Mumbai who made a fake Covid-19 negative report whereas the test results with the laboratory had proved otherwise.
The report consisted of test results of a family including- father (53), mother (51) and their daughter (15). All three had tested positive as per lab reports.
According to the complaint, the family not just altered the report but even travelled from their house in suburban area of Khar to the airport in Vile Parle with an intention to visit Jaipur.
Speaking to India Today TV, BMC Additional Municipal Commissioner Suresh Kakani said, “First of all, this act has not only risked the lives of the family but also the other members of society. Citizens are expected to behave responsible and abide by Covid-19 rules in these times.”
The state is witnessing a major spike in Covid-19 cases, which several experts believe could be the start of the second wave. For the last few days, Mumbai too has started getting a higher number of cases.
