Bombay High Court on Thursday once again appreciateed effective work done by the BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) in second COVID-19 wave and asked as to why other local bodies particularly Pune and Nashik are not using the successful Mumbai Model . BMC s work has been effective in reaching out to citizens, the bench noted.
The court also asked the Maharashtra government as to why BMC chief Iqbal Singh Chahal hasn t conducted a video conference with commissioners of other municipal corporations and shared Mumbai Model. Our only anxiety is the successful Mumbai Model should reach to all Corporations in Maharashtra, HC noted.

These four wards collectively comprise 32 percent of the entire active case tally in Mumbai.
Four municipal wards in the western suburbs of the BMC have continued to record a high number of cases daily despite a fall in the number of Covid-19 cases in the city. The wards K west (Andheri west), R Central (Borivli) K east (Andheri east) and R South (Dahisar) presently have been reporting the highest active case tally in Mumbai.
Both Andheri west and Dahisar presently have 2,669 and 2,548 active cases while Andheri east and Dahisar have 2,012 and 1,918 cases each so far. These four wards collectively comprise 32 percent of the entire active case tally in Mumbai.

The Bombay High Court on Thursday asked the Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai not to discharge Delhi University associate professor Hany Babu, an accused in the Elgar Parishad-Maoist links case, till June 1 and sought a medical report on his condition and treatment given to him.
A vacation bench of Justices S S Shinde and N R Borkar said if the private hospital was to discharge Babu before June 1, then it shall first inform the court and take permission.
