SEMINOLES TURN PITT OVER IN 67-53 WIN

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Seminoles.com) – A season-best 23 turnovers forced on the defensive end helped Florida State Women’s Basketball get past Pittsburgh, 67-53, on Sunday afternoon at the Donald L. Tucker Center. “(It was) very important,” FSU Interim Head Coach Brooke Wyckoff said of the 23 turnovers forced. “When we allowed them to score they would press us. If we were able to get a defensive rebound or force a turnover, that led to easier offense. That’s a good sign defensively. I wished we grabbed a few more rebounds on the defensive end but that’s OK, we’ll work on that.”

Florida State Hosts Pitt on Sunday at 2PM

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Seminoles.com) – Florida State Women’s Basketball plays host to conference foe Pittsburgh on Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the Donald L. Tucker Center. It is FSU’s last scheduled game in the 2020 calendar year. Sunday’s ACC battle between the Florida State Seminoles (2-1, 1-1) and Pittsburgh Panthers (3-2, 1-1) is a reunion of coaches in Brooke Wyckoff and Lance White whom enjoyed a great deal of success as part of the Florida State coaching staff. Wyckoff and White coached together at Florida State for seven seasons from 2011-2018, helping the Seminoles to six NCAA Tournament berths, three NCAA Sweet 16s and two NCAA Elite Eights in that span. Wyckoff coaches against White as head coach for the first time in her career.

CLEMSON, S.C. (Seminoles.com) – The Florida State Women’s Basketball team (2-1, 1-1) suffered a 72-69 loss to ACC foe Clemson (7-1, 2-1) on the road Thursday night at the Littlejohn Coliseum. It is the Seminoles’ first loss of the season. “Obviously it was a really tough one, the way it came down to the end like that,” FSU Interim Head Coach Brooke Wyckoff said. “The girls were really disappointed. But honestly, it was a great learning lesson for us. I told them after the game, ‘This is the ACC. Every single possession is going to be a battle. They’re not going to give you anything easy, they’re not going to make it look like how you want it to look. We’ve got to adjust and continue to work.”’

Noles Host Virginia in ACC Opener

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Seminoles.com) – Florida State Women’s Basketball’s 12-day break between games is close to coming to an end as it hosts conference foe Virginia on Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. at the Donald L. Tucker Center. The game will air on several of the ACC’s Regional Sports Networks, including FOX Sports Sun. The gap in play following a season-opening win over Florida on Dec. 1 was primarily due to final exam week, but the Seminoles (1-0, 0-0) also had a postponement on Dec. 3 vs. Austin Peay. With just one game under its belt, FSU is rearing to go for conference play as it begins with the Cavaliers (0-4, 0-1) on Sunday.
