Summit County’s Memorial Day events were virtual last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Restrictions have eased this year, and while ceremonies will remain low-key, the county’s towns and organizations are hosting events to honor.

The Breckenridge Police Department is seeking help in identifying a suspect in a string of snowboard thefts from Grand Colorado on Peak 8 earlier this month.
, a person stole three snowboards from the resort in two separate incidents April 5 and 22. The suspect stole two snowboards from inside a ski locker in one case, and stole another board from outside the building in the other. Investigators determined the suspect was the same person on both days using video footage, according to the post.
The police department is asking anyone who might have information on the suspect’s identity to contact the county’s non-emergency dispatch line at 970-668-8600 and reference Case No. 2021-05060.

Suspicious vehicle
BRECKENRIDGE, Minn. (KVRR) – Police in Breckenridge, Minn. are asking for help in locating the driver of a vehicle that may have been following a child who was walking to school.
Police say a parent reported that a silver station wagon was allegedly following their child as the child was walking to the elementary school on 9th Street North.
After the parent picked up the child, the vehicle followed them to the Blazer Express gas station and pulled into the parking lot. When the parent and child left, the suspicious vehicle left in a different direction.

Breckenridge officials and tourism industry representatives made predictions about crowd levels, business, and restriction-related confrontations associated with the spring break period during the Breckenridge Tourism Office’s community update on Friday.
Breckenridge Mayor Eric Mamula urged citizens of Breckenridge and Summit County at large to stay vigilant “for at least the next month” in their attempts to reduce the spread of COVID-19. He said that while the county’s case numbers are trending downward, he is afraid the community will see a resurgence of the virus due to spring break crowds expected to arrive in mid-March.

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. The Breckenridge Police Department is asking for the public’s help in finding a missing teen.
Abigayle Labbee, 16, was last seen leaving her home on Glentown Lane at 4 a.m. on Tuesday. Police believe Abigayle is with 34-year-old Donald Lankford.
She left a note that stated she went to Florida with her ex and Lankford, according to police.
Abigayle is 5 foot 4 inches tall, weighs 175 pounds and has red hair and brown eyes. Lankford is 6 foot 4 inches tall, weighs 180 pounds and has black hair and brown eyes.
