Stampede begin new year with loss at Fargo

/ Sports Radio KWSN Jan 3, 2021 7:32 AM FARGO, N.D. (KELO.com) The Sioux Falls Stampede dropped their opener game of the new year 4-1 to the Fargo Force at SCHEELS Arena Saturday night. Defenseman Brent Johnson scored the lone goal for the Herd. Trent Burnham made the start between the pipes, stopping 24 of 27 shots on net. In the seventh matchup between the two teams this season, the Fargo Force were able to collect the first goal of the game off the stick of Jeremy Davidson. Davidson reacted to a loose put in the goal crease and was able to put it past goaltender Trent Burnham a minute into the contest. Erik Bargholtz and Jacob Braccini provided the assists.

Herd finishes 2020 with 6-3 loss to Fargo

(KELO.com) The Sioux Falls Stampede capped of the year 2020 with a tough 6-3 loss to the Fargo Force at the PREMIER Center Thursday night. Forwards Garrett Pinoniemi, Jay Buchholz and JP Turner scored in the effort, while Noah Grannan made the start in net, stopping 24 of 29 shots on net. The Sioux Falls Stampede were able to kick off the eve of the new year with a power player goal from Garrett Pinoniemi at the 7:50 mark of the first period. Defenseman Brent Johnson provided the assist that set up Pinoniemi on the outside of the left circle to snipe it past goaltender Brennan Boynton. The fifth goal of the season for the University of Minnesota recruit.
