County commission hears Juvenile Justice plan for fiscal year 2022 During Tuesday morning s county commission meeting, Community Corrections Director Annie Grevas asked the commissioners to view the Juvenile Justice Comprehensive Plan as a “multitude-program outline grant.”   The plan is budgeted for six different programs: Juvenile Intake and Assessment, Juvenile Intensive Supervision, Case Management, Immediate Intervention Program, Juvenile Corrections Advisory Board Funding, and Prevention Program.  The first deals with youth that run away from home or foster care, have parents arrested or are arrested themselves, or are away from home for any reason. Children in the program range from less than a year old to age 16 or 17.

5 Annually, Soldiers are required to participate in the Army’s Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention Program training to build trust, spread awareness, and create a support network for Soldiers to utilize to prevent and respond to sexual harassment and sexual assault incidents. “The program is a safe place for us to talk about sexual harassment and assault and that there are ways that we can come together as a unit to prevent it,” said Sgt. Devorion Crawford, a multichannel transmission systems operator-maintainer assigned to 1-6 Air Cavalry Squadron, 2nd Combat Aviation Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division. “If you or someone you know finds themselves in that situation, there are policies set in place for us to get the help we need. You can’t fight that battle alone, because it can take a toll on you mentally, physically, and emotionally. There are people around that can help us get through it.”

The effort to recall Gavin Newsom officially has enough signatures to trigger an election, Secretary of State Shirley Weber confirmed Monday afternoon. As of April 26, there are 1,626,042 valid recall signatures, well over the 1.5 million needed to trigger an election. Don t mark your calendars just yet, though. Next comes a 30 day withdrawal period where anyone can have their signature removed from the recall petition. To do so, voters have to submit the request to the county elections official where the voter lived at the time they signed the petition.
