JOHANNESBURG – The State Capture Commission said that the deaths of former Auditor-General Kimi Makwetu and Minister in the Presidency Jackson Mthembu were tragic for the inquiry as they were both key witnesses.
Evidence leader Advocate Alec Freund said that they had cooperated with the commission extensively on parliamentary oversight but Makwetu passed before he could sign his affidavit.

ANC MP Tozama Mantashe, the sister of ANC national
chairperson Gwede Mantashe, died on Sunday due to Covid-19 complications.
Tozama Mantashe is the 13th MP to have died of the virus.
In a statement on Monday, ANC chief whip Pemmy Majodina said
Mantashe was hospitalised for a few weeks. At the time of her demise, Comrade Tozama Mantashe had
served in both the fifth and sixth Parliament and was assigned to serve on the
Portfolio Committee on Trade and Industry during the sixth Parliament as well

This simply shows our politics and the ANC as a multicultural party, Ralph Mathekga, an independent political analyst told Xinhua.
Speaking on SAfm radio, Harvard said she came to South Africa in 1994 to do her doctorate studies and joined the ANC in 2004. She said she was proudly South African and would work hard to change people s lives.

The ANC in the Free State province has had over two decades of wanton paralysis politically and organisationally; this manifested in the cult of personality which established itself as a norm and an institution of some sort, personified by its long-standing chairperson comrade Ace Magashule, who is also secretary general of the ANC.

Harvard replaced the Minister in Presidency Jackson Mthembu who died from COVID-19 related complications recently. She became the first person of Chinese descent to join the National Assembly since the advent of democracy in 1994.
