Early parliamentary elections will take place on June 20 in Armenia
President Armen Sarkissian has signed a decree on scheduling early parliamentary elections. As Panorama.am was informed from the press service of the President’s Office, the decree says that the election will be held on June 20.
The decision comes after the National Assembly was dissolved by virtue of law, after it voted down Nikol Pashinyan’s candidacy for the post of prime minister for the second time.

The decree enters into force from the next day of official publication.
Earlier today the Armenian parliament did not elect Nikol Pashinyan in the post of the prime minister and was dissolved in accordance with the procedures.
Pashinyan announced resignation on April 25 to conduct snap parliamentary elections in Armenia.
