Family sources told newsmen on Sunday that Mr. Martins-Kuye passed on on Sunday morning in his hometown of Ago-Iwoye. He was 78.

Views: Visits 227 A former senator Jubril Martins-Kuye is dead. The two time former minister died this morning from an undisclosed illness. Sources say Martins-Kuye died in his hometown in Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State. A chartered accountant, Martins-Kuye practiced for several years in Lagos before moving into politics. Kuye was first elected to the Nigerian Senate in the truncated Third Republic. When democracy returned in 1999, he ran unsuccessfully for governor as PDP candidate against Olusegun Osoba in Ogun State. He was subsequently appointed minister of state for finance by former President Olusegun Obasanjo, and remained in his cabinet until 2003. Between 2010 and 2011, former President Goodluck Jonathan tapped appointed him as his commerce and industry minister towards the tail end of late President Umar Yar-Adua.

EUBC President Falcinelli looks forward to era of reforms under Kremlev Monday, 21 December 2020 European Boxing Confederation (EUBC) President Franco Falcinelli has looked forward to an era of reforms under newly-elected International Boxing Association (AIBA) President Umar Kremlev. Kremlev was appointed AIBA President earlier this month during a virtual Extraordinary Congress. In his newsletter, Falcinelli acknowledged the difficult task facing Kremlev and thanked Interim AIBA President Mohamed Moustahsane for his time in charge of the embattled governing body. Falcinelli also recognised the efforts of the two other European Presidential candidates - Suleyman Mikayilov of Azerbaijan and Boris van der Vorst of The Netherlands.
