Once again there were no surprises at the last RBA rate decision earlier this month. The Cash rate and the 3 year yield target were both was kept at 0.10%. The level of bond purchases was unchanged too. The RBA was nearly through their first $100 billion AUD earlier this month and were stating through the second tranche of $100 billion.

(Bloomberg) The U.S. economy probably notched up another bumper month of hiring in April, tallying with other reports that suggest growth momentum is building in the wake of the coronavirus crisis.
Payrolls may have risen by 978,000, according to the median estimate of economists, above the 916,000 gain in March, while unemployment is seen falling below 6%. The Labor Department report on Friday will wrap up another busy week of data that also includes April surveys of manufacturers and service providers.

(Bloomberg) The Swiss National Bank is using external experts to ensure women aren’t shortchanged on pay and promotion after reports they were subject to disparate treatment.
Already faced with the deepest economic slump in decades due to the pandemic, the SNB found itself under public scrutiny last year following a story published by website Republik detailing bullying and salary discrimination endured by female staff.
Although an internal review of the allegations found only a few cases and no systematic pattern of sexism and bullying, SNB Bank Council President Barbara Janom Steiner said corrective action nevertheless had been taken.
