National honor reflects La Salle’s strong commitment to first-generation student success.
La Salle University has been named a 2021-22 First-Gen Forward Institution by the Center for First-Generation Student Success, a national recognition of La Salle’s firm commitment to first-generation college students.
La Salle is among a select few colleges and universities nationally to have been selected to the Center’s third-annual First-Gen Forward cohort, the nation’s preeminent program acknowledging institutions for their efforts to support and improve the experiences and outcomes of first-generation students.

La Salle University has been recognized as a Military Friendly® institution by VIQTORY for its support of and resources for student veterans and active-duty military members.
Institutions earning the Military Friendly® designation were evaluated using both public data sources and responses from a proprietary survey, based upon criteria like professional outcomes and student retention. Nearly 750 institutions nationally earned the 2021-22 designation.

Two senior leaders have been added to La Salle University’s Executive Cabinet, President Colleen M. Hanycz, Ph.D., announced in a Feb. 2 message to the La Salle community.
Tim O’Shaughnessy, ’85, will serve as Executive Vice President, effective immediately. Sean L. Corgan, J.D., will serve as Vice President and General Counsel, effective Feb. 8. Another member of the University’s senior leadership team, Angela Polec, Ed.D., has accepted an expanded portfolio in her appointment as Vice President of Enrollment, Marketing, and Communications, effective Feb. 8, President Hanycz also announced.
